Juno Bio raised $3.8 million and opened a CLIA-certified sequencing lab in Oakland to expand clinical testing for its vaginal microbiome assay. The company says the test analyzes roughly 10,000 bacteria and fungi plus four common sexually transmitted infections, supporting downstream work for pharma R&D partnerships as well as clinician-led use. Juno reports having sold more than 20,000 tests since launch and says the assay is available in 46 states, with additional expansion planned. The new lab capacity is positioned as a scaling step for both commercial testing throughput and ongoing research collaborations. The move reflects continued investment in microbiome-based diagnostics aimed at improving personalized women’s health care and enabling more data-driven product development for drug sponsors.
