Khartis Therapeutics emerged from stealth with $95 million in total funding to pursue an oral treatment for thyroid eye disease (TED), aiming to compete with established infusion and biologic options. The company disclosed a $50 million Series B and said earlier funding totals $45 million, with backing from Forge Life Science Partners and others. Khartis’ lead candidate is designed to target IGF-1R, using a pill approach intended to reduce safety tradeoffs associated with current options. The company plans its first clinical trial in 2027, positioning the venture for early data to validate differentiation in a difficult-to-treat, underserved market.
