Vaderis Therapeutics closed an oversubscribed $152 million Series B financing and simultaneously initiated HEROIC, its global Phase III study of engasertib (ALM 301) in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). The company said the trial is designed to evaluate the AKT inhibitor in a disease area with no approved therapies globally. Vaderis described engasertib as a targeted oral approach directed at HHT pathophysiology, with enrollment linked to potential U.S. regulatory submission timelines. The round was co-led by Life Sciences at Goldman Sachs Alternatives and TCGX, with participation from Omega Funds, EQT Life Sciences, Perceptive Advisors, Kalehua Capital, and existing investors Medicxi and Droia. The combination of major late-stage funding and Phase III activation underscores investor appetite for mechanistically focused rare-disease programs approaching registrational readouts.
