ICON partnered with institutional review board and clinical trial management provider Advarra to build an integrated, AI-driven clinical site network model aimed at speeding study startup. The initiative combines ICON’s trial operations with Advarra’s systems for clinical trial management, investigator site file, and data capture. The connected model is intended to embed workflows into the tools sites already use daily, reducing duplicated tasks and manual data handling that can slow contract execution and regulatory readiness. ICON said sponsors will be able to access services across the shared environment. Demand for tighter integration was cited as the driver, with sponsors seeking more speed, efficiency, and predictability in trial setup and ongoing site execution. Advarra’s Study Collaboration is described as the integration hub connecting the companies’ operational stacks. In practice, the partnership targets one of the most frequent frictions in clinical development—trial startup delays caused by disconnected systems and repeated data entry—by moving to a more site-centric operating environment.
