Verici Dx validated a 29-gene RNA expression immune signature that can predict early acute kidney rejection risk before transplantation. The company said its Pre-Transplant Risk Assessment (PTRA) assay was validated in a clinical study published in Kidney360 and is designed to stratify recipients independent of donor characteristics. Verici’s test addresses a clinical gap: most existing acute rejection assays measure signals only after transplant—such as donor-derived cell-free DNA—rather than forecasting risk at the time of listing or pre-operative workup. Verici stated PTRA measures expression of immune-related gene regulatory pathways from a blood sample. The work also highlights the competitive landscape in transplant diagnostics, with multiple developers pursuing post-transplant monitoring and with Verici aiming to move risk prediction earlier in the clinical timeline.
