Thermo Fisher Scientific opened its East Coast Advanced Therapies Collaboration Center in Philadelphia to support cell and gene therapy development, expanding its national network of ATxCC sites. The center aims to provide resources and partnerships to accelerate C&G translation and manufacturing. In Indiana, Purdue University, Eli Lilly, Heartland BioWorks and NIBRT announced a collaboration to bring NIBRT’s biomanufacturing training curriculum to the Midwest, with hands‑on sessions planned to start in 2027. The initiative targets workforce supply for commercial‑scale biomanufacturing and aligns academic, industry, and regional development goals. Together the moves respond to industry demand for skilled CGT manufacturing personnel and localized process development support—critical bottlenecks as companies scale to commercial production.
