Thermo Fisher Scientific’s PPD clinical research business partnered with Datavant to enable privacy‑preserving linkage of de‑identified research datasets to real‑world patient records across a broad network. The collaboration will incorporate Datavant’s tokenization technology to connect trial data with electronic medical records, registries and other RWD sources covering over 350 partners and more than 80,000 U.S. hospitals and clinics. Thermo Fisher said the integration will support enriched randomized trials, improved recruitment, and accelerated evidence generation for biopharma customers. Tokenization is a method that replaces direct patient identifiers with encrypted tokens to allow longitudinal linkage while maintaining privacy protections.
