Thermo Fisher Scientific’s PPD clinical research business announced a strategic partnership with Datavant to enable privacy‑preserving linkage of real‑world data (RWD) for biopharma customers. The integration will use Datavant’s encrypted token technology to connect de‑identified research datasets to electronic medical records and registries across more than 350 RWD partners and 80,000 U.S. hospitals and clinics. Thermo Fisher said the capability will support trial enrichment, recruitment, and advanced evidence generation. PPD executives emphasized the commercial utility for sponsors seeking integrated RWD to design more connected studies and accelerate evidence generation, while Data privacy and governance safeguards were highlighted as central elements of the collaboration.
