Jazz Pharmaceuticals and AbCellera announced a preclinical option-and-license collaboration to discover and develop next-generation T-cell engaging (TCE) multispecific antibodies for GI cancers and other solid tumors. AbCellera will conduct discovery and early-stage research for two initial programs and commit to start a third within 12 months. Jazz will receive exclusive options for each program, with worldwide development and commercialization rights for exercised options. AbCellera is set to receive $56 million upfront for the first two programs, plus $28 million when the third starts. If Jazz opts in, milestone economics could rise to as much as $792 million per program, alongside tiered royalties. The structure is designed to give Jazz early data before committing to full development while letting AbCellera fund discovery. The companies said the TCE platform includes engineered CD3-binding antibody panels, costimulatory targeting arms, and high-throughput functional assays to generate clinical candidates. The announcement adds another large-scale partnership focused on expanding beyond TCE activity seen primarily in certain blood cancers, with Jazz targeting solid-tumor durability and immune activation.
