Janssen’s phase I/IIa MajesTEC-9 trial reported major efficacy results for teclistamab, a BCMA- and CD3-targeting T-cell engager, in refractory multiple myeloma. The program met its primary endpoint and demonstrated improved progression-free and overall survival versus control therapies. The report describes a chemotherapy-free approach in which teclistamab brings T cells into close proximity with myeloma cells to drive immune-mediated cancer cell killing. In a cohort of nearly 600 patients, the trial data showed higher rates of 18-month progression-free survival and deep response signals.
