A new service, SyBValS (System Biology Validation Service), was introduced to validate computationally inferred biological pathways and flag annotation errors that commonly mislead downstream analyses. The initiative offers benchmarking and verification pipelines to compare pathway maps against curated evidence and experimental datasets. SyBValS targets research groups and pharma R&D teams that rely on pathway maps for target selection and mechanistic inference, offering a layer of reproducibility and confidence before costly experiments. Widespread adoption could reduce costly chasing of false leads and harmonize standards for pathway annotation across public and proprietary databases.
