Network Bio launched with $50 million in financing and a strategic collaboration valued at $30 million with Nvidia to develop a cell-free RNA (cfRNA) foundation model. The startup plans to combine longitudinal and molecular datasets from academic medical centers with Nvidia’s Parabricks software and modular BioNeMo model-building tools. The partnership is intended to produce a population-scale cfRNA foundation model that can serve as a base for supervised disease models, including oncology and non-oncology indications. Network Bio said the model development uses Nexus, a self-supervised transformer architecture trained on cfRNA expression profiles. If executed, the approach could affect how liquid-biopsy data are processed for biomarker discovery and drug development, particularly by reducing friction from biobank access to model-ready datasets.
