The Stanley Family Foundation committed an additional $280 million to the Broad Institute’s Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research, bringing the foundation’s total investment in the center to more than $1 billion. The funds will support large‑scale human genetics, computational biology, stem cell models, and drug discovery projects focused on schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Broad leadership emphasized the investment’s aim to convert genetic signals into mechanistic insights and therapeutic hypotheses. Todd Golub and Ben Neale noted the center’s role in driving industry partnerships and building discovery pipelines that may seed future programs in precision psychiatry.
