Spatial Genomics and Caltech filed a lawsuit alleging that 10x Genomics’ Xenium spatial biology platform infringes on patents assigned to Caltech, according to an SEC disclosure and court filing. The complaint points to five US patents covering multiplex labeling and sequential hybridization barcoding methods. 10x said it believes the claims are meritless and intends to defend itself vigorously, as Spatial Genomics moved to keep aspects of the case under seal while pursuing the dispute in Delaware federal court.
