Oxford Nanopore laid out a business roadmap aimed at increasing adoption of its sequencing technology across biopharma, clinical, and research end markets. In a call covering 2026 half-year results, CEO Francis Van Parys said the company’s foundations are strong but adoption and growth have not matched expectations. The plan includes focusing on high-value applied use cases for biopharma and clinical customers, improving product scalability, simplifying the portfolio, and sharpening workforce efficiency. Oxford Nanopore also outlined a target of more than $700 million in annual revenue by 2030, with applied markets projected to overtake research as the largest segment. A related business development includes a global cross-licensing agreement with an undisclosed diagnostics company, with $20 million in licensing fees and committed product purchases recognized in 2027 and 2028. The commercial emphasis reflects continuing market demand for workflow-friendly sequencing that can support regulated clinical genomics and biomarker testing.
