Illumina entered into a $1 billion credit facility with Bank of America and simultaneously signed an underwriting agreement for a separate $300 million notes offering, according to SEC filings. The credit agreement replaces a prior arrangement from January 2023 and matures in 2031, with options for up to three one-year extensions. Illumina said the loans may be used for working capital needs and other lawful corporate purposes. It also disclosed that it had no borrowings outstanding under the new facility as of the filing date. Separately, the company plans to issue $300 million of 4.950% notes due 2029, with net proceeds intended to repay earlier notes due 2026. The combined structure suggests a near-term balance-sheet optimization rather than an immediate expansion program.
