RQ Bio secured $115 million in a Series A to advance RQB01, a long-acting antibody program aimed at seasonal influenza prevention. The London-based startup said the preclinical candidate is designed to target conserved viral elements with a differentiated dual mechanism of action, with the goal of providing protection lasting a full season. The financing was led by Frazier Life Sciences with participation from LifeArc Ventures, and other investors including Forbion and EQT Life Sciences. RQ Bio said RQB01 is currently in IND-enabling studies and plans to enter clinical testing next year. The round adds to momentum in flu prophylaxis, where multiple approaches compete across vaccination and preventive antivirals. RQ Bio also named Christian Schade as executive chairman, with Schade previously serving as president and CEO of Halda Therapeutics, which Johnson & Johnson acquired last year.
