RQ Bio secured a $115 million Series A to advance RQB01, a preclinical, long-acting antibody program aimed at preventing seasonal influenza with broad protection. The company said the candidate targets conserved viral regions using a “differentiated dual mechanism of action,” with a single dose intended to provide protective effects across a full flu season. The round was led by Frazier Life Sciences with participation from LifeArc Ventures and other investors including Forbion and EQT Life Sciences, highlighting continued investor appetite for non-vaccine prophylaxis strategies despite existing flu immunization infrastructure. RQ Bio also named Christian Schade as executive chairman, adding leadership credibility from prior commercial and turnaround experience in drug development after LifeArc’s and partner selection focused on preventive product-market fit.
