Royalty Pharma agreed to buy a $425 million interest tied to Neurimmune’s cliramitug, a TTR-fibril-depleting antibody in Phase 3 for transthyretin amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). The deal structure includes $125 million upfront and additional milestone payments, with results expected in the Phase 3 DepleTTR-CM program in 2028. The antibody is designed to target amyloid already deposited in the heart, aiming to complement existing therapies that primarily prevent new accumulation. AstraZeneca previously projected multi-billion-dollar peak sales potential for cliramitug at an investor event. For investors, the transaction extends Royalty Pharma’s strategy of acquiring late-stage or near-commercial royalties in fast-growing cardiometabolic and rare-disease treatment areas, while it preserves Neurimmune’s majority royalty and milestone interests.
