Roche struck a strategic collaboration and license with China’s Hansoh Pharma focused on a broad portfolio of antibody-drug conjugates, according to the companies. Hansoh will receive $400 million upfront plus a $110 million first-anniversary payment and eligibility for more than $15 billion in milestones tied to development, regulatory, and commercial outcomes. Under the deal terms, Hansoh leads early development through completion of global Phase Ia trials, after which Roche takes over worldwide development. Hansoh retains commercialization rights in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and can select up to two programs for potential expansion outside those regions. Roche’s stated goal is to advance its “next-generation ADCs” strategy, adding preclinical programs and additional assets tied to Roche-proposed targets built on Hansoh’s platform. The agreement continues a pattern of Roche partnering with Chinese innovation in oncology modalities. For investors and pipeline planners, the transaction reinforces ADCs as a central consolidation theme and highlights how Chinese platform access is being valued through large upfront licensing economics.
