Acuitas Therapeutics highlighted pre-formed vesicles (PFVs) as a manufacturing and logistics workaround for nucleic acid delivery. The system stores empty lipid vesicles at standard refrigeration or room temperatures and loads patient-specific cargo at the point of care, aiming to eliminate upfront batch cargo encapsulation and -80°C storage dependencies. The technology targets a key bottleneck for personalized therapies by decoupling the delivery vehicle from the fragile RNA payload until administration. Acuitas said PFVs showed equivalent morphology and in vivo expression in preclinical work compared with conventional LNP approaches. As companies push toward bespoke dosing for rare diseases and oncology, delivery platforms that reduce manufacturing lead times and cold-chain friction increasingly influence clinical timelines and scalability.
