Utrecht University’s Netherlands Proteomics Centre (NPC) received a €3.5 million grant from the Dutch Research Council for an LSRI upgrade to modernize proteomics infrastructure. The funding includes support for operations and integration of AI into workflows. Led by Albert Heck and co-led by researchers including Kelly Stecker and Fabio Marino, the center said the upgrade will strengthen collaborations and enhance the next stage of proteomics innovation in the Netherlands. The grant is notable for its AI emphasis at a core research facility, reflecting a push to bring more computational methods into standardized proteomics and data processing pipelines. That can shorten turnaround time and support more consistent analysis across experiments.
