Preclinical swine data indicate that renal nerve stimulation modulates kidney blood flow in a frequency-dependent manner. The study also reported that kilohertz frequencies can temporarily dampen subsequent sympathetic vasoconstriction, pointing to distinct operational windows for neuromodulation. The findings matter for development of device-based therapies targeting sympathetic pathways in conditions such as hypertension and renal dysfunction, where efficacy may depend on stimulation parameters. Although this work is early-stage and not a human trial, its mechanistic emphasis on frequency effects supports more precise parameter selection for future translation.
