Geneus Technologies announced that its G-seq500 single-molecule nanopore sequencer and sequencing chip, G-MK02, obtained CE marking under the EU’s IVDR framework. The certification is framed by the company as a milestone for expanding long-read sequencing access in Europe. The company describes its desktop platform as combining protein nanopore sensing with sequencing-by-synthesis, producing per-run output of 5 Gb, with target applications including microbial genome, 16S full-length, and amplicon testing. Geneus previously raised nearly RMB 100 million in a Series B++ round. The CE IVDR update places Geneus alongside other emerging nanopore platform providers working to meet European diagnostic regulatory requirements, a step that can expand adoption of long-read sequencing in clinical and research settings.
