Cancer Research UK, Royal Marsden and Guardant Health partnered to expand access to ctDNA testing across the UK’s Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) network. CRUK said it aims to make hundreds of Guardant360 Liquid CDx tests available, positioning the effort as proof of concept for scaling blood-based genomic profiling. The initiative is intended to support precision medicine trials that use ctDNA profiling and to align with the National Cancer Plan for England. CRUK’s grant supports capacity building, with a stated goal of increasing the number of patients who can access actionable liquid biopsy results. For diagnostics companies and pharma teams, the partnership highlights how ctDNA workflows are moving from specialized services toward broader clinical-research infrastructure—potentially improving trial feasibility and enabling more adaptive enrollment strategies.
