The World Health Organization is moving to strengthen clinical trial design and implementation through a new online training course launched as part of its science capacity efforts. WHO said the course, titled “Good Practices for Clinical Trial Design and Implementation,” includes nine modules spanning ethics, trial conduct, oversight, and participant protection. WHO framed the initiative against a backdrop of renewed scrutiny of science and research integrity, while also pointing to earlier WHO guidance on national clinical trial capability building and best practices to improve inclusion of underrepresented groups such as children, pregnant women, and older adults.
