RQ Bio secured an oversubscribed $115 million Series A to advance its single-dose long-acting antibody prophylaxis program for influenza in high-risk and immunocompromised populations. The lead asset, RQB-01, is designed to provide broad, season-long protection using a dual mechanism targeting conserved influenza epitopes. The company said the funding supports IND-enabling work and progression toward clinical development, with RQB-01 currently in investigational new drug (IND)-enabling studies. The financing also strengthens RQ Bio’s broader pipeline of prophylactic therapies for respiratory viral diseases. The therapeutic concept targets an unmet need: patients at high risk may remain vulnerable despite vaccination, and a single-administration approach could reduce reliance on annual repeat dosing. For investors, it reinforces the commercial pull of next-generation prevention in respiratory infections. If RQB-01 translates clinically, it could shift the economics and logistics of influenza prevention—particularly in immunocompromised settings where vaccine responsiveness is often impaired.
