Edgewise Therapeutics is preparing for Phase 3 in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy after reporting updated Phase 2 evidence for EDG-7500. The company said the updated part D results from Cirrus-HCM showed meaningful responses across hemodynamics, biomarkers, and patient-reported measures. Edgewise positioned EDG-7500 as a partial inhibitor with a tolerability profile that, in its reporting, avoided meaningful left ventricular ejection fraction changes seen with some cardiac myosin inhibitors that carry boxed warnings. The company said EDG-7500 will move into a registrational study for both obstructive and nonobstructive HCM. For investors and competitors, the Phase 3 step intensifies the race to improve safety profiles and expand treatment options in the most common genetic heart condition.
