Researchers created fat tissue organoids that can recruit living T cells, generating a new in vitro model of immune–adipose cross-talk. The work, described in iScience, uses laboratory-grown fat spheroids to support migration of regulatory T cells into organoid structures within days. The platform is positioned as a way to study obesity-related metabolic disease by observing immunological interactions in a controlled setting, rather than relying solely on systemic animal models. Regulatory T cell trafficking and localization are central readouts that the authors treat as functional rather than observational.
