Two U.K.-linked fundraising updates underscored continued appetite for gene therapy platforms with new indications and delivery strategies. OMass Therapeutics raised $310 million in an oversubscribed Series C to fund its endocrinology lead candidate, while OrbiMed disclosed a $3 billion fundraise directed at health care investments. For OMass, the financing is positioned to drive OMS1620 through Phase II for congenital adrenal hyperplasia and ACTH-dependent Cushing’s syndrome, with additional early clinical development planned for SLC15A4, an interferon-pathway inhibitor candidate. The round was co-led by Bain Capital Life Sciences, Forbion, and Novo Holdings, among others. Separately, OrbiMed’s $3 billion raise—described as including substantial allocations for Asia—signals continued momentum for private capital into biotech and related health care platforms, even as public-market sentiment has grown more uneven.
