Curium announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Lantheus for up to $8 billion, combining Curium’s radiopharmaceutical manufacturing network and theranostics pipeline with Lantheus’ U.S. radiodiagnostics franchise. Under the terms, Curium will pay $102.50 per Lantheus share at closing, with additional contingent value rights tied to sales milestones through 2030. Lantheus’ portfolio includes prostate cancer imaging agent Pylarify, cardiac ultrasound enhancing agent Definity, and beta-amyloid PET imaging agent Neuraceq—products that contribute to a diversified position across nuclear medicine. Curium said the merged operation would span the nuclear medicine supply chain, from isotope production and manufacturing to diagnostic imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy. The companies expect the transaction to close in the first half of 2027, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. Lantheus is scheduled to release second-quarter results Aug. 6 but will suspend 2026 guidance pending the deal.
