Curium and Lantheus have agreed to merge in a deal valued at up to $8 billion, combining Curium’s theranostics manufacturing network with Lantheus’ U.S. radiodiagnostics franchise. Curium will buy all outstanding Lantheus shares for $102.50 in cash at closing, with up to an additional $12 per share in contingent value rights tied to Lantheus’ prostate cancer, neurology and Definity milestones through 2030. The companies expect to close in the first half of 2027, subject to Lantheus shareholder and regulatory approvals. Lantheus will become privately held, and its business will be integrated across the nuclear medicine supply chain—from isotope production and manufacturing through diagnostic imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy. Lantheus generated $377.3 million in Q1 2026 revenue, led by Pylarify (prostate PET), Definity (cardiac ultrasound enhancement), and Neuraceq (beta-amyloid PET). The transaction comes after Lantheus reportedly weighed a Curium proposal earlier this year and follows Lantheus’ prior radiopharma expansion via its Evergreen Theragnostics acquisition.
