Qiagen’s QiaStat-Dx BCID GN Plus AMR Panel for bloodstream infection testing received CE-IVD certification, enabling routine clinical use in countries that recognize CE marking. The panel is designed to detect 13 gram-negative pathogen targets and 18 antimicrobial resistance markers from positive blood cultures in about one hour. Qiagen said the CE-IVD panel complements its earlier CE-IVD-certified BCID GPF Plus AMR Panel, which covers gram-positive and fungal targets. Together, the two tests aim to support faster treatment decisions, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection-control workflows. For hospital labs, faster multiplexing reduces time-to-action and may change empiric therapy patterns—especially where antibiotic stewardship and rapid resistance detection are operational priorities.
