Quest Diagnostics began integrating its Haystack MRD ctDNA test and comprehensive genomic profiling into Flatiron Health’s OncoEMR electronic health record system through an opt-in ordering workflow. The pilot is being run with the American Oncology Network and other community oncology providers. The integration is designed to improve access for clinicians across Flatiron’s network of community cancer care sites, with the report citing 4,700 clinicians across 1,600 locations once fully rolled out. Quest positioned the ordering feature as tailored to the needs of comprehensive molecular tests. For the biotech ecosystem, MRD monitoring and liquid biopsy use are becoming more dependent on EHR workflow adoption, not just assay performance. This move targets operational friction—ordering and data access—while expanding the clinical footprint for ctDNA-based monitoring tools.
