OneOncology said it will embed OpenEvidence’s AI chatbot and search engine into its community oncology clinics to support physician decision-making and literature access. The workflow includes functions such as generating workups, computing formulas, drafting prior authorization letters, and supporting genomic and clinical trial matching. OpenEvidence positions its system as HIPAA compliant and specifically trained for medical use rather than relying on raw general-purpose LLMs. OneOncology also plans eventual integration with its genomic and clinical trial matching databases. The rollout brings AI closer to point-of-care oncology, in a context where regulators and clinicians remain divided on how these tools should be governed and validated.
