Cytiva completed expansion of its Logan, Utah liquid media production capacity, effectively doubling output to support supply continuity for customers dependent on the company’s cell culture media. The expanded animal-derived component-free (ADCF) facility (A1X) adds larger mixing tanks, more formulation booths, and additional manifold fill lines. Cytiva said the upgrade supports batch sizes from 700 L up to 13,000 L and includes equipment upgrades such as AL6XN stainless steel for product contact surfaces. The company also updated manufacturing floor layouts to shorten cycle time and reduce product risk via closed-system cleaning and controlled handling of raw materials and finished goods. For bioprocessing teams, the capacity expansion underscores continued demand for reliable media supply as gene and cell therapy pipelines scale and as customers manage longer lead times for critical consumables.
