Thermo Fisher Scientific signed a memorandum of understanding with KYAN Technologies to advance functional precision oncology using patient-derived tumoroids. The collaboration will evaluate donor-specific drug responses across solid-tumor settings including breast, pancreatic, ovarian, and colorectal cancers. The partnership centers on turning experimental drug response data into a more direct readout of how a patient’s tumor biology may behave under treatment. For Thermo Fisher, the MoU supports a broader strategy around workflows spanning sample preparation, testing, and analysis. For KYAN, the deal provides an industrial validation path for its functional precision approach, which can be used to inform therapeutic selection if the models prove predictive in practice.
