A novel solid-state NMR technique developed by a team at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics utilizes 1H-13C FSLG-HETCOR spectroscopy to precisely characterize complex plastic waste mixtures. This enables selective catalytic transformations tailored to diverse polymers in heterogeneous streams. Such analytical innovation enhances recycling efficacy by facilitating orthogonal processing strategies for prevalent plastics, addressing current environmental challenges in waste management.
