Natera and Eledon Pharmaceuticals partnered to embed Natera’s Prospera donor-derived cell-free DNA assay into a planned Phase III kidney transplant trial of Eledon’s tegoprubart, an investigational anti-CD40L antibody intended to reduce organ rejection. Prospera will function as the exclusive dd-cfDNA longitudinal monitoring assay, supporting surveillance in a trial expected to enroll roughly 600 recipients across more than 100 centers. The companies positioned Prospera’s two-threshold algorithm—combining dd-cfDNA fraction and calculated total dd-cfDNA—as a tool for molecular monitoring that could help guide clinical use of new transplant therapies. The partnership marks a notable expansion of dd-cfDNA use into large-scale therapeutic trials, generating prospective datasets tied to allograft injury dynamics.
