Pfizer broadened the clinical case for its monthly obesity GLP-1 treatment berobenatide with new mid-stage data on a weekly-to-monthly dosing path. The company’s data were presented at the American Diabetes Association meeting, aiming to show weight-loss trajectory continues after switching to longer dosing intervals. In VESPER-3, patients received weekly berobenatide for 12 weeks before transitioning to monthly dosing out to week 28. By week 28, patients on treatment lost up to 12.1% of body weight, and Pfizer said the weight-loss rate remained similar through the transition period. Analysts and competing-weekly GLP-1 programs remain a benchmark, but the emphasis on monthly convenience reflects how dosing frequency is becoming a differentiator for obesity adoption and adherence.
