Hartwig Medical Foundation expanded its partnership with Ultima Genomics by adopting the Ultima UG200 sequencing platform to increase sequencing scale and throughput while lowering overall costs for cancer research and testing. The collaboration’s stated focus includes further validation and implementation of Ultima’s paired plus minus sequencing (ppmSeq) for whole-genome-informed ctDNA monitoring. Hartwig and Ultima also plan to build end-to-end workflows to support Ultima data and longitudinal ctDNA analysis, enabling broader clinical genomics teams to implement the technology in-house. The effort includes longitudinal monitoring workflows designed around ctDNA data interpretation. The move highlights continuing momentum toward ultra-sensitive, WGS-informed liquid biopsy methods that aim to standardize longitudinal cancer monitoring in routine settings.
