Agios Pharmaceuticals agreed to potentially pay $665 million for global rights to advance Oscotec’s cevidoplenib, an oral SYK inhibitor positioned for immune thrombocytopenia with a Phase 3-ready profile. The deal adds a new resistance-focused therapeutic direction for Oscotec while giving Agios an additional late-stage development lever. Oscotec CEO Yoon Tae-young said the transaction marks a “new chapter” centered on cancer therapy resistance, reflecting how SYK pathway assets are being reassessed across immunology and oncology adjacent indications.
