Orbis is expected to receive undisclosed upfront payments and development and commercial milestones totaling up to $1.4 billion, plus tiered royalties. Orbis brings its nGen platform and nCycles synthetic macrocycle designs, built to optimize oral bioavailability—an area that has historically limited oral access for certain biologics-like modalities. Novo’s participation also includes a strategic investment in Orbis, signaling confidence in the platform’s translational potential for conditions spanning obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. The partnership expands Novo’s oral strategy, building on its existing oral GLP-1 programs and additional collaborations aimed at oral diabetes and weight-loss medicines. It also places AI chemistry at the center of the oral pipeline, with Orbis focused on delivering drug-like molecules via real-time lab-generated datasets integrated into the discovery loop.
