A Nature Chemical Biology study reported a strategy to discover charged molecular glues enabled through targeted degron display. Molecular glues are small molecules that promote new protein-protein interactions, often harnessing targeted degradation pathways. The work describes how degron display can expand the search space for glue-like compounds while connecting the chemistry to targeted protein-context selection. For drug discovery, the platform could accelerate earlier-stage hit identification in targeted protein modulation programs where conventional screening struggles to find effective glue candidates.
