Boehringer Ingelheim expanded its oncology partnership with Sino Biopharmaceutical (SBP Group) through an up-to-$7.358 billion-plus multi-program option and license agreement. The collaboration adds six biologic preclinical programs built on SBP’s antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) and T-cell engager (TcE) platforms, with SBP overseeing early development and Boehringer holding option rights after defined clinical and regulatory milestones. The agreement deepens a China-focused strategy and supports a broader portfolio combining cell-killing targeted therapies with immuno-oncology approaches. Boehringer will make upfront and near-term payments totaling $358 million, with up to $7 billion tied to option-exercise, development, regulatory, and commercial achievements. Investors reacted positively to the announcement, with SBP shares reportedly rising 5% on the Hong Kong exchange.
