Eli Lilly’s Zepbound remains physicians’ preferred GLP-1–based obesity treatment in a Spherix Global Insights survey of 185 U.S. specialists. Respondents reported the highest satisfaction with Zepbound among the therapies compared, including Novo Nordisk’s injectable Wegovy and the companies’ newer oral options. The survey captured meaningful early sentiment: clinicians rated Zepbound highest overall, while oral launches were viewed as improving but not yet matching satisfaction with injectables. It also emphasized real-world discontinuation drivers, citing cost or lack of insurance coverage and gastrointestinal side effects as the top reasons patients stop. The results reinforce how launch sequencing, tolerability expectations, and access economics are shaping prescribing behavior as oral GLP-1 competitors enter the market.
