Nvidia, Sheba Medical Center’s ARC Innovation, and Mount Sinai’s Icahn School formed a three‑year collaboration to build a Genomic Foundation Model (gFM) — an LLM‑based platform designed to map regulatory mechanisms linking genetic variation to disease risk and therapeutic response. The partners will combine genomic datasets, AI expertise, and clinical know‑how to accelerate interpretation of non‑coding DNA and identify therapeutic targets. Mount Sinai’s Million Health Discoveries program and Sheba’s ARC Innovation will contribute genomic resources and translational research capabilities, while Nvidia provides AI infrastructure and model engineering. The effort aims to shorten target discovery timelines and improve mechanistic understanding of variants through a scalable AI platform. The partnership reflects a growing move by tech and health institutions to deploy large language models and foundation-model architectures for genomics, emphasizing data sharing, model validation, and translational applications across drug discovery and precision medicine.
