Three pediatric emergency departments in England are trialing Memed BV’s rapid blood test, which produces results in as little as 15 minutes to differentiate bacterial from viral infections. The study aims to speed diagnosis in suspected sepsis and reduce unnecessary antibiotic use or delayed treatment. Memed developed the assay to aid rapid triage where time‑sensitive decisions are critical. The NHS trial will assess diagnostic accuracy, workflow integration and clinical impact; successful validation could prompt broader adoption in emergency and inpatient pediatric settings and influence point‑of‑care testing strategies.
