Heidelberg Epignostix announced a strategic partnership with the UK NHS Genomic Medicine Service to bring its epigenetic tumor classifiers into routine NHS genomic laboratory workflows. Under the agreement, Heidelberg Epignostix will provide epigenetic tumor stratification services free of charge for pediatric patients across England for three years, with an initial rollout focused on its central nervous system (CNS) tumor methylation classifier that can distinguish more than 180 CNS tumor subtypes. The company said the tests will be integrated across all GMS genomic laboratories, and it outlined a roadmap for expanding coverage to additional tumor types in the future. This NHS-scale deployment matters for adoption of methylation-based diagnostics, particularly in pediatric oncology where standardized molecular classification can influence treatment decisions.
