The agreement begins with optimization of selected SMART-Seq RNA-seq library prep workflows and is intended to expand across DNA-seq, RNA-seq, and immune profiling kits. The collaboration targets high-throughput NGS core labs and emphasizes deployable automation scripts to improve reproducibility and enable easier integration into existing lab environments. Takara said the instrument footprint is designed to be compatible with labs constrained by space and staffing. Strategically, this continues a broader shift toward bundling wet-lab genomics chemistry with robotics and workflow orchestration. For sequencing service providers and diagnostic-adjacent labs, standardization of library prep is a direct lever for reducing batch effects and improving run-to-run consistency.
